Method 1 allows fast font loading. The advantage of method 2 is that you do not have to modify GhostScript. However, the fonts take a long time to load. This might be the best choice for people that don't read or print Japanese PostScript files that often. Stephen Turnbull has contributed a guide to install Japanese fonts with GhostScript4.03 Option 3 is fairly widely used because it is included in the Linux JE distribution. The disadvantage is that there are only a limited amount of printer DEVICES available. See the section on DEVICES below.
